WHO WE ARE

The "Greater Tzaneen Community Foundation" (GTCF), is a not for profit organization registered with the National Department of Social Development and with CIPC. With it's head office in Tzaneen, the GTCF was established to support inclusive community socio-economic development.

The GTCF was established in 2015 through a joint funding from Home-grown Solutions (PTY) LTD and the National Development Agency (NDA) of the Department of Social Development in Limpopo. The GTCF was established to:

- Mobilize resources towards the development of the rural poor.

- Build an endowment which will be an inexhaustible asset base to support inclusive socio-economic development.

- Implement empirically verifiable high impact socio-economic development interventions.

- Facilitate community upliftment through research, skills development, business support, institutional capacity building and grant funding.

OUR MISSION IS TO:

- Build a pipeline for especially the rural young to access opportunities in the 4IR economy through educational robotics programs.

- Support the development and growth of STEAM driven SMMEs.

- Host robotics related events to instigate the innovation and uptake of STEAM solutions.

- Advocate for equal quality robotics literacy for all citizens.

OUR VALUES

- Inclusion: We identify sections of the communities which are excluded from socio-economic development and the causes thereof, with a clear intention to design and offer interventions which enable meaningful inclusive participation.

- Respect: We respect the right of every citizen to quality education and economic participation.

- Responsiveness: We believe that the interventions we provide should be responsive to the needs of the recipients and opportunities in the economy.

APPROACH

- Education With Production: We integrate acquisition of education and skills with production of economically and socially useful solutions.

- Program based partnerships: We forge partnerships to leverage on the strengths of our partners for the benefit of our programs beneficiaries.
